A PechaKucha is a presentation of 20 slides with 20 seconds spent displaying and talking about each slide. My version 1 wasn’t a true PechaKucha, and version 2 isn’t as good as it could be; I want to develop version 3 but haven’t yet. So this PechaKucha hasn’t been presented publicly but with any luck version 3 will be.
Psychopomps are guides to the afterlife. It’s a mouthful of a word, so I prefer to call them End Friends.
End Friends are beings from the Other Side who help with the transition of death. Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross adamantly stated that no one dies alone, no matter the form of death, because End Friends always help:
But at the time of transition, your guides, your guardian angels, people whom you have loved and who have passed on before you, will be there to help you. We have verified this beyond a shadow of a doubt, and I say this as a scientist. There will always be someone to help you with this transition.
—Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, On Life After Death
Head to Burly Broads Books and More to see a seven-minute video of my version 2 PechaKucha on psychopomps and the idea that no one dies alone. There is also a self-directed slide show of the presentation.
